Milk and Dairy Product Consumption Habits of University Students in Turkey

The present study was conducted to investigate the milk and dairy product consumption of 361 randomly selected students from Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) through a questionnaire form applied face-to-face interviews in province Samsun Turkey. rate who were consuming 86.43% (86.14% females, 86.79% males, P=0.980), one glass daily 92.35% (94.47% 89.61 % P=0.201) 18.28% (19.80% 16.35% P=0.400). Of do not drink milk, 71.59% (65.77% 78.69% P=0.134) stated that they did have any reason for or "not habit drinking milk. Packaged (UHT, sterilized, pasteurized) being consumed more (60.23%) than non-packaged (39.77%) (P=0.001). Female (80.30%) male (79.74%) found prefer products (P=0.896). In conclusion, it determined generally, OMU had good level consumption. However, particular, students' regular habits insufficient. Also, gender influence preferences habits.
